News

October 2007

As Racket-sport moves into it’s 6th year of trading, a pretty poor and wet summer has been left behind and we now concentrate on the indoor sports.

The squash season is well and truly under way and there are many new products on the site to tempt people! On the racket front, Prince have launched the new O3 Black, which is currently used by several top squash players, including James Willstrop. They have also introduced two O3 Hybrid models, the Attack and Vendetta, which combine the O3 technology with conventional grommets. Tecnifibre have modified the very successful Carboflex 140, making it slightly more powerful and stringing it with the new X One string, a very thin and powerful string, red in colour. See if it can brighten up your game! Head have improved their range, with the new Metallix squash rackets. This very light and stiff material gives strength to the frame and combined with Flexpoint technology, gives a great blend of power and control. Finally, Dunlop have brought out the Aerogel range. The Aerogel combined with MFil technology again, gives a balance between power and control. Dunlop is still the most used racket on the Pro Tour - see if one of the rackets can help your game!

It’s no use using a "top notch" racket and ignoring your footwear! Asics have continued with their very successful range of last year. A few technical additions and changes of colour but pretty much the same thing. The range topping Sensei continues to lead the way, endorsed by world no. 1 - Amr Shabana. Not to be left behind, Prince have put a new top of the range shoe out - the MV4. Very light, supportive and cushioned, this shoe is bound to be a success. Head are also bringing two shoes to the market. One will be top end and one in the £40 competitive price bracket. These will be on the site shortly.

Finally, to clothing. Tecnifibre have added to their very popular range, from last year. They have four levels of technical specification, with the F4 range being the most advanced. Squashdesign have launched a new range, using an improved Meryl Actisystem, for increased movement and lightness. Racket-sport is the only UK retailer to have this Squashdesign range!

Hopefully, there will be a new and exciting range of badminton equipment launched, by Yonex, early in the New Year. The products will be added to the site, as soon as they are available.

May I wish everyone a successful indoor season and outdoor, if you are continuing to play tennis. I hope you will continue to support Racket-sport and I will do my best to bring the best products at competitive prices.

Kevin Hodges.
Managing Director.
